Kling 3.0 on Mac, right inside DaVinci Resolve

Kling 3.0 is Kuaishou's current flagship video line (distinct from Kling O3): text or a start frame in, 3 to 15 second clips with native audio, multi-shot character stories, and a native-4K tier. Asset Lab runs it as a native Mac & Linux app, and AssetLab Resolve runs it beside your DaVinci Resolve timeline. No subscription: $49 once, then pay per clip, about $0.84 for 5 seconds on Kling 3.0 Pro with audio on.

What is Kling 3.0?

Kling 3.0 is Kuaishou's flagship video-generation line, served through fal.ai. It generates a clip from a text prompt or animates a start image, with native audio, in takes from 3 to 15 seconds. Inside Asset Lab it also supports Kling 3.0 / O3 multi-shot: up to six timed shots rendered as one take, with the prompt counters that enforce fal's own character limits.

It is a separate line from Kling O3. Both families sit in the Asset Lab picker. Reach for 3.0 when you want the current text-to-video arena flagship and character-driven multi-shot stories; reach for O3 when you need that generation's image-to-video with end frames, and its edit and New Shot tools.

Tiers in Asset Lab:

  • Kling 3.0 Standard: motion and audio at the friendlier rate
  • Kling 3.0 Pro: flagship quality
  • Kling 3.0 4K: the native-4K cinema tier
  • Kling 3.0 Turbo Standard / Turbo Pro: speed tiers (Turbo Pro gives 1080p, native audio and stronger lipsync)

Kling's own app vs Asset Lab

Kling AI ships its own web, mobile and desktop clients for Kling 3.0, billed through Kling's credit plans. That is the right pick if you only ever want Kling models and prefer their first-party interface.

Asset Lab is the pick when you want Kling 3.0 plus Seedance 2.5, Veo 3.1, Wan 3.0 and 50 or so other models in one Mac or Linux window, with no monthly fee, files on your disk, and optional docking beside DaVinci Resolve. Same fal.ai raw rates either way; the $49 buys the studio, not the renders.

How to use Kling 3.0 in Asset Lab

  1. Open the Video tab and pick Kling 3.0 Pro (or Standard, 4K, Turbo) from the model picker.
  2. Write the shot, or attach a start frame from your gallery.
  3. Choose length (3–15 s), audio on or off where the tier supports it, and multi-shot if you need several timed beats in one take.
  4. Check the price on the button, then Generate. The clip lands in your gallery and in ~/Pictures/Asset Lab.

The start frame behind the first example, made on the Image tab with Nano Banana 2 for about 12¢. Hand it to Kling 3.0 and the prompt only has to describe the motion: the push-in, the breath, the rain starting again.

Inside DaVinci Resolve: in AssetLab Resolve, use Grab frame to pull the frame under the playhead in as the start frame, generate, and Auto-drop puts the finished clip in an "Asset Lab" bin and on your timeline. It works with Resolve Free and Studio, on Mac and Linux.

For multi-shot pieces: storyboard first (about 12¢ a still) and use approved stills as start frames, or use Kling multi-shot for up to six timed shots in one render.

Do I need a GPU to run Kling 3.0?

No. Kling 3.0 runs on fal.ai's cloud, not on your computer. Asset Lab sends the request with your own key and saves the finished file to your disk, so any Apple Silicon Mac (or x86-64 Linux machine) makes the same clip. No Nvidia GPU, no model weights to download.
