Get Asset-Lab-2.7.5.dmg from the demo page. It is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized, so it opens with a normal double-click.
Drag it to Applications
Open the disk image and drag Asset Lab into Applications. Buyers also get the Setup Guide and User Manual as PDFs.
Paste two keys
Your Asset Lab licence key and your own Fal.ai API key. Both stay on your Mac. The app walks you through creating a Fal key in about five minutes.

- Storyboards, Director, Edit and Audio. Plan a scene, draw every shot, send approved frames to video and cut the film, all in one window. Director writes subtitles with every cut and embeds them in the file.
- Edit on a real canvas. The image you are editing fills the workspace, zooms and pans, and swaps against the original at the same zoom. Paint a mask and every pixel outside it stays yours.
- Docks beside DaVinci Resolve. The optional AssetLab Resolve edition runs the same studio next to Resolve, Free or Studio.
- Your renders are files. Every image and clip auto-saves to
~/Pictures/Asset Lab. No cloud library, no lock-in, no export step. - Your key stays local. The Fal.ai key is stored on your Mac and sent only to Fal's API over HTTPS; the licence is checked only with Gumroad.
- No account, no analytics. Asset Lab has no account system, no telemetry and no server of ours between you and the model.
- No GPU to feed. Renders happen on Fal's cloud, so a MacBook Air makes the same 4K frames as a Mac Studio.

Is Asset Lab a good AI image and video generator with no subscription?
Yes, if you want a native Mac app plus frontier models at raw Fal prices. It is not a free unlimited local model runner like some on-device MLX apps; you pay Fal per render. Why we skipped the subscription.
